The days of getting permission from your mom to have a few people over your house to hold up in your room and crush koopas and get as many extra lives you can are long gone.
The world of gaming has transformed to the virtual world. If a game does not have online play, it is an oddity. Nearly every game that is produced today is geared toward the demand of online competition. Most people would agree with me when I say that the story mode of a certain f95zone game comes second to making the online play the big promotion of the game. It seems like whenever you walk into a store that sells mostly games, the main objective and big push of marketing is how great the online play is. What ever happened to the days of actually meeting up with friends and having a good time trying to beat a game?
The social interaction of online game play is great, but all it is a facade. There is no real face-to-face interaction between players. It seems to me that the advent of online game play has ruined the social interaction of people. Instead of meeting up with people to do something in real life, I can sit at home and pretend that I am meeting up with people have a good time. People think that getting people together in a virtual game room and playing a game of Uno is social interaction.
Lets get real people, that’s so very far from having a tangible relationship with people. Online gaming has turned people into hermits that only come outside to go to work and get food. It has turned people devoid of any real human interaction. People can be themselves behind the mask of an avatar. It is really sad. I see it in so many people. Rather than going out and enjoying life, enjoy nature, they would rather stay inside with their curtains stapled to the window frame, with salty snacks within reaching distance and enjoy a virtual nature hidden within a video game. This has turned people into believing that 1’s and 0’s are the real world.
